What we collect from customers

Purchases can only be made from a registered CGTOOLS customer account, which requires the following information:

  • first and last name
  • email address (login)
  • password (login)
  • billing address

Optionally, customers can add the following billing information:

  • company name
  • VAT number

For legal reasons online shops are obligated to collect purchase data and to store it on a server for 10 years. CGTOOLS saves the following information with every transaction:

  • first and last name and/or company name
  • billing address
  • PayPal email address
  • data relevant to purchases like invoice ID, transaction amount etc.

During the registration process we ask the customer to subscribe to the CGTOOLS newsletter. By default, the customer is subscribed to product-specific notifications of all products he obtains through this website. Both the newsletter and the notification subscriptions use the email address provided during the customer account registration. Subscriptions can be managed from the customer account at any time. We also record the last login's timestamp, so that we can check it against the timestamp of a certain event, that requires the customer's attention or approval, such as important changes to the Terms of Use.

What we collect from developers

As long as only free products are offered, registering a CGTOOLS developer account requires the following information:

  • first and last name
  • contact email address (login)
  • password (login)

Before selling a product, the developer must add the following information:

  • billing address
  • PayPal email address

Optional information that can be added to a developer account:

  • Company name
  • Developer bio
  • Avatar image
  • Website URL
  • Social media usernames and/or URLs
  • product information and media

We also record the last login's timestamp, so that we can check it against the timestamp of a certain event, that requires the developer's attention or approval, such as important changes to the Terms of Use.

What we do with the information we gather from customers

We require this information to understand your needs and provide you with a better service, and in particular for the following reasons:

  • Internal record keeping - We may use the information to improve our services or customise the website according to your interests.
  • CGTOOLS Newsletter - You will get occasional newsletters advertising the newest products, featured products, discounted products and/or news and announcements about the website in general. You can manage the newsletter subscription from your account's backend.
  • Product notifications - If you are subscribed to product notifications you might get separate emails telling you about product specific news, e.g. updates. You can manage the notification subscription for each obtained product from your account's backend.

What we do with the information we gather from developers

We require this information to understand your needs and provide you with a better service, and in particular for the following reasons:

  • Internal record keeping - We may use the information to improve our services or customise the website according to your interests.
  • Sales notifications - You will automatically get notification emails when your product is sold.
  • Developer Newsletter - We may send you internal developer newsletters about new developer features and tools.
  • Customer support - We will allow all customers and unregistered users of CGTOOLS to reach out to you through a contact form provided on your product pages. Your email address will not be revealed for that purpose.
  • CGTOOLS staff contact - We may contact you personally by email with product or website specific concerns.
